This is a short video which should be interesting for a number of you. It talks about a software environment that enpowers educators to create highly interactive and adaptive educational content. For me e-learning is a completely new subject so it would be interesting to see if similar systems of teaching are used locally.

I found this video rather interesting since it demonstrates how one of the key advantages of using e-learning systems i.e. providing a student-centred approach to learning can be delivered in real terms. As the e-learning area matures, the number of e-learning content providers is growing. Such providers produce and distribute material that covers a large range of topics, varies in quality and is presented in various formats. Students have a hard time to select the content that best suits their interests and objectives, complies to the characteristics of the device used and delivery network as well as their cost budget. There is a need for a system that would bring the user-oriented tailoring of e-learning material to a higher level of personalisation: apart from focusing on learner’s interest and goals, it should also look at the performance of delivery and display as well as at the cost of accessing the learning material. Companies such as SkillSoft, Ossidian, PulseLearning and InteractiveServices are already developing e-learning systems that deliver content tailored to either user interests or devices over wired and wireless networks. IBM has also launched the Workplace Collaborative Learning v2.5 that recommends specific training for a student based on profiles, skills and competencies.
